Coronavirus-related guidelines
At this point, the coronavirus can no longer be considered a force majeure. The lockdowns and the closure of restaurants, bars, and event venues are causing immense damage to our profession. Many professional musicians were not eligible for the general emergency aid and are on the brink of financial ruin, even as large parts of the economy are performing better than ever. This disparity in the impact of the crisis is deeply unfair.
Please keep this in mind as you read the terms and conditions below.
We have two conditions. This keeps things simple. After two years of the pandemic, it has become clear that it is virtually impossible to draft booking conditions that cover all the dozens of possible scenarios.
You would like to reschedule your booking due to COVID-19
You pay a 25% fee
This compensation applies without exception under all circumstances. So whether there is a lockdown or not, whether it is a case of force majeure or not, whether the hospitality industry is fully or temporarily closed, whether there is a limit on the number of attendees, or whatever the reason for the relocation may be.
You are paying this fee because rescheduling the booking involves a significant amount of extra work for us. We have to recheck the musicians’ availability, reprocess and resend the booking confirmations, and perform various other administrative tasks.
You are also paying this fee because the musicians have kept the date of your booking open and turned down other gigs as a result. We are booked for a wide range of events, so even if, for example, the hospitality industry were completely shut down, we could have accepted work at a funeral. Or if bookings in the Netherlands were not possible, we could have performed in Belgium. So it’s never as black and white as it seems. You pay this fee to compensate for this loss to some extent.
You would like to cancel your reservation due to COVID-19
You pay 50% of the cost
This compensation applies without exception under all circumstances. In other words, regardless of whether there is a lockdown or not, whether the hospitality industry is fully or temporarily closed, whether there are restrictions on the number of attendees, or whatever the reason for the cancellation may be.
You are paying this compensation to make up for the lost income that is so desperately needed by professional musicians during these difficult times.
