Cancellation. It’s always a hassle—but our cancellation insurance makes it a little easier to handle.

What are the benefits of travel cancellation insurance?

Of course, there may be times when—for whatever reason—you unexpectedly have to cancel your booking. For example, because a planned wedding cannot take place due to illness or a death in your family. Or because the opening of your new business premises is postponed due to construction delays. Or because you will be hosting far fewer guests than originally planned...

In such cases, you may be forced to cancel the booking with Jazz Centrale. That is, of course, extremely unfortunate for you, and for us.

Depending on the time remaining until the original performance date, however, you will usually still owe a portion of the agreed-upon fee in the event of a cancellation. These terms are part of the booking conditions that you accept when making the booking.

After all, we have already had to schedule this booking in our calendar, which meant we had to turn down other gigs. And some musicians, for example, have had to reschedule or cancel their lessons and students. In short, we also suffer a financial loss when a gig is suddenly canceled. That is why we have cancellation policies in place. You can choose to relax the cancellation policy—in exchange for a small additional fee.

How much does it cost?

Cancellation insurance works as follows: you pay a small percentage of the total booking amount. In exchange, you receive significant discounts on the fee owed if you have to cancel the booking.

A sample calculation

Suppose you’ve booked a gig for a total fee of €1,000. And suppose you have to cancel this gig two weeks in advance due to unforeseen circumstances. Below are the amounts you’ll owe. As you can see, cancellation insurance saves you hundreds of euros compared to a situation where you hadn’t taken out any insurance!
